The keyboard shelf at a Beckhoff Control Panel permits a standard PC keyboard to be placed in front of the Control Panel, allowing convenient operation during commissioning or software updates. During normal production, the machine operator can rest tools and other items here while using the Control Panel. The shelf is constructed from anodized aluminum. Its design matches that of the Control Panel. A ribbed rubber mat is glued to the surface of the shelf. The keyboard shelf is made as wide as the Control Panel. In the case of small Control Panels, the shelf is wider than the Control Panel housing, so that a keyboard can be rested on it. The Control Panel is given additional holes on the lower side, so the shelf should be ordered at the same time as the Control Panel.
